Two Forest Fires in Bath and Alleghany Counties

Warm Springs, VA – The US Forest Service is battling two forest fires – one in Bath County and one in Allegheny County.

The Fasifern Fire is about 4 miles west-northwest of Warm Springs in Bath County. It was reported on Tuesday, April 6, and is estimated to cover 25 acres. There is no estimate on when the fire may be contained.

The second fire is the Fore Mountain Fire. It is located about 4.5 miles east-northeast of Covington, Virginia, in Alleghany County near the top of Fore Mountain. It was also reported on Tuesday, April 6, and is estimated to cover 3 acres.
