United 4 One Community Youth Choir To Make Second Appearance At WCHG’s Old Fashioned Gospel Jubilee

Warm Springs, VA – Allegheny Mountain Radio’s fall fundraiser kicks off on Saturday night November 5 with the 9th Annual Old Fashioned Gospel Jubilee at Bath County High School. This year will mark United 4 One Community Youth Choir’s second appearance at the Jubilee. United 4 One is made up of young people from various churches in Bath County who are united for one purpose. At a recent rehearsal, choir members shared why they like being a part of United 4 One.

“Because you learn about God and you know all the songs and then you can sing them at home.” That’s Jacob, he’s eleven.

Ty is 8 years old. “Because you get to sing with all your friends. Because I get to learn about God.”

Nevada is 11. ” The part I like about being in the group is that you get to come to Church each Sunday at 5 and sing and practice and you’ll have fun at the performances. It’s just another way to praise God.”

Carolyn is eight years old and she says people enjoy seeing them perform at the Gospel Jubilee. “I think they like hearing the exciting ones, like all of them. We’ve been there before and it’s going to be really exciting.”

Jenna Crummett is 17 and she has been involved since the choir formed about five years ago.

“It’s important because it shows the community that there are children out here and youth out here that want to worship God and just have fun with it and it’s just really exciting. I’ve been taught a lot. I’ve been taught to have fun and smile and just have a good time with these younger ones I forget about that sometimes and they’ve shown me a lot of times just to have fun, don’t worry about it and just sing your heart out.”

United 4 One is open to any child that would like to join. The group is directed by Karen Hise and Melinda Hooker.

You can hear United 4 One perform at the Old Fashioned Gospel Jubilee on Saturday November 5 at Bath County High School. The Jubilee gets underway at 6 o’clock. Sunday Drive, Glen Shelton and Karen and Richard Hise and Jenna will also perform. Admission is free will donation and proceeds benefit community radio station WCHG 107.1 FM.
