Vaccination Clinic in Dunmore
Dunmore, WV – When a veterinary clinic at Dunmore, WV, closed last summer, a lot of people in Pocahontas County were left without a local doctor for their pets. But Dr. Ellen Miller, who closed her secondary outpatient clinic in Dunmore after WV upped the requirements for secondary clinics, plans to offer vaccination clinics in the county several times a year, to accommodate those clients.
Dr. Miller will be in Dunmore, at her old office, on Saturday, February 3rd, for a Vaccination Clinic…
CUT: We’ll be offering all of the vaccinations… not able to be over there on a regular basis now.
Dr. Miller says some of her Dunmore clients now make the trek to Warm Springs to bring their pets to her main office. But it’s a long drive and sometimes, pets don’t fair very well on a long drive on mountain roads. She hopes to offer a vaccination clinic in the county several times a year.

The building that housed Dr. Miller’s secondary outpatient clinic in Dunmore is owned by Gary Beverage, and Miller says he has always been generous about letting her use it. She’s glad to be able to hold the clinic at her former office, a convenient location for those who were used to taking their animals there. In the spring, she hopes to hold a mobile clinic, stopping for a few hours at a time at various locations in the county.
Miller says regular vaccinations are important for pets’ health, but vaccinating against rabies also protects the health of human family members…

The February Clinic will be SATURDAY February 3rd from 9AM until 3PM at Dr. Miller’s former office – also known as the old Beverage’s Store at Dunmore. Patients are handled on a first-come, first-served basis. But Miller says this sometimes causes congestion right at 9 o’clock when the clinic opens. She says there’s no need for everyone to be there at 9 o’clock, and it would be helpful to people to space their visits throughout the day…
CUT: And we ask for their patience… Hopefully, there will be a long line. We hope people can come out that day.
