In the public comments at the April 11 Highland County Board of Supervisors Meeting the board heard from many concerned citizens. Here’s a brief overview of those comments.

The board read in the resolution for Emergency Medical Services and added a few minor changes then gave a final vote. Sponaugle and Budzinski voted yes, Trible voted no. The crowd gathered in the courthouse erupted in shouts and immediately called for the resignation of both Sponaugle and Budzinski via a petition.
The clouds cleared just in time for the peak of the eclipse on Monday as a watch party of about 100 people gathered at the Highland County Public Library.

Calls for the resignation of supervisors Henry Budzinski and Harry Sponaugle rung through the room and after a pointed exchange, County Attorney Melissa Dowd walked out of the meeting. In the end, after more than three hours that held little decorum, the Highland County Emergency Medical Services Plan Proposal passed with minor changes.
